A cloudy sky rolled in and they set camp in the woods. Leon and Claire lay with Sherry between them waiting for sherry to be completely asleep.
Finally she slumbered and Claire motioned for Leon to meet her out side of the tent. Leon meet young Redfield by a tree. She leaned her back against the tree looking at him with a serious face.
" Whats wrong?" He asked. She began to explain.
" I needed to tell you this sense we saw the mountain... There is a base 2 miles from here and tomorrow I think we should go there. "
" Are you kidding me? This is wonderful!" He interrupted.
" No, Listen.. When we get there I need to hurry to my brother...This will be the last night I see you." She added.
" No!" He shouted as lightning struck in the distance and rain began to pour.
" You guys need to take this! You have no one left to protect but sherry I have my brother!" She shouted back as her hair soaked in the cold rain.
He walked up to her and grabbed her wrist tight. " T..Tell me you can walk away from this?!" He said aggressively and Continued. " What about?...About what you said to Sherry?!"
She showed no emotion but strong hurtful feelings struck her heart like knifes. She was both hurt and flattered he seemed to care more than she knew.
" LEON! MY BROTHER IS OUT THERE!" She screamed coldly and turned to stomp off. But suddenly Leon turned her around before she could leave.
"Kiss me?..." He said in a soft tone and leaned toward her . " ...Show me some kind of affection..I know its there." His voice weakened as he placed his hand over her neck. "You pretend you feel nothing but I know its a lie."
Claire was shocked and butterflies fluttered in her stomach like crazy...She had no idea until now. Claire had feelings too but she hid it so well.
She felt her pulse race and the urg to accept his affection. He pulled her closer by her bottom. Urging for a kiss... She leaned in slowly, The rain fell hard and lightning struck behind the two. And as there lips barely began to touch he pulled back.
" Don't...You don't have to, this is enough for me." He said softly and left her at the tree. She watched Leon disappear into the tent and let her tears lose.
The next day they traveled to the base. There, Claire turned to give a far well but was interrupted by Leon.
"Leave us alone." Claire couldn't believe Leon's words. Leon continued, "You're looking for your brother, right?
Just go!" Claire knew that Leon and Sherry needed immediate medical attention, but she could not waste anymore time. "I... "I'll be back. I promise!" She said as she disappeared into the wilderness alone...
Leon watched with mixed emotions and squeezed his fists shut tightly. And Thought to himself. " Its all lost now..."
She mumbled to herself. " Wha,What did I just lose?!What Could Of Been?...Why did I?" Tears fell and she felt Leon's anger as she walked alone knowing his eyes watched her.
Soon she was no longer in sight. The grudge she gave Leon ruined the chances of this romance blooming any further...
